Two People Blabs

Been wanting to cycle for a while. I have been looking around for a bike but never gotten around to spending the money.  On the weekend, I borrowed one of my neighbour’s bike and we went cycling ( my neighbour and I). With no idea where to go, I decided to head for the nearest national park ( about 5-8 mins drive from where we live). We decided to take the short cuts but could not find the way there. We ended up riding through a bushwalking trail but had to carry the bike up the hill as it was all steps up from the stream level. It was hell. We were entirely exhausted. Took a rest and rode through the shopping district before “exploring” our neighbourhood. It was a good ride and a good way get some exercise done. We are planning to do this regularly. Hopefully i will get my act to gether and get my bike soon and who knows the Wife will join in too.

Isn’t it strange that sometimes we thought we know some people very well, but then actually we don’t really know them at all? Whatever that we know is just on the surface, and whatever inside them we don’t actually know. Maybe I’m just beeing naive here but it is rather sad to find out that that is the truth. Life moves on.

After months of stressing and numerous late nights, finally got the log book submitted to start the registration exam. But the submission was not without any hidcups. I was informed that the summary sheets i used was the old type but was allowed 2 days extra to change them to the new one. I finally got them in today. Now to wait for the news if my application is accepted.

Made more fried dumplings (é”…è´´) on the weekend. Gave some to a neighbour, he enjoyed it so much he ate it for dinner, breakfast and lunch consecutively. Good to know i make good dumplings with a nice sauce too (such thick skin: says my other half). Will try to post some photos of the dumplings next time i make them.

And there is also a rumour/revelation that a friend like some other friend but one is married now. But that is a story for another time.

As the title said, TGIF! Thank God It’s Friday… This week has been a long week, for me anyway, I have been repeating the same experiment for I don’t know how many times, one day it works and when I repeated again it doesn’t work. Sigh… Well today seems that it’s working, but who knows, maybe when I’m doing my thousands of samples it won’t work again. But what can I say, this is what is called research…. working in a black hole with no answers and no one know what the end result will look like. It’s different with any other job, where when you do the work you will actually see the result quite quickly or at least you know that that particular job is finished, but for who works in research, once you’ve got something, there’ll be more questions to ask, and more and more…, and basically you will never see the ending of the work. NEVER! well I guess you’ll see the ending when you end the research eg. finish PhD, or if the government doesn’t give you any more grant to continue the project. But that’s the way research work. There are too many ups and downs, and it can all happening in the same day, either both … or down only (which is mostly my days are). So people… STOP asking me how’s my stuff going! Cheers. (Siska)
